We are proud to support Dysfunktional Pottery by Hillary Mitchell!! Hilary's first contact with clay was when she was 9 years old and her Dad took her to Artpark in Lewiston, NY. He made her wear a smock to protect her clothes, even though, she just wanted to play in the mud. Dysfunktional Pottery is an extension of who Hilary is. The form over function and exciting nature of her pottery is sure to breathe life into any decorative setting. Please feel free to contact Hilary if you have any questions or would like to commision her to do custom work.
We are displaying some of her pieces in our Spa! Feel free to come in a browse or go to her website:

After high school, she took a Handbuilding class at NCCC in Sanborn NY as an art elective to get out of having to take the dreaded music history requirement. While acheiving her BA at SUNY Fredonia, Hilary had even more electives to fill, so she decided to take Wheel Throwing for 2 semesters and really enjoyed learning all of the different throwing techniques, glazes, and ways to fire clay. After moving to NC in 2005, Hilary found a renewed spirit to try playing with clay again at Stretch Gallery n Studios where she was able to hone her craft over the next 2 years.
